STMicroelectronics provides a recommended PCB layout in the application note AN4898, which includes guidelines for thermal vias, copper pours, and component placement to ensure optimal thermal performance.
STMicroelectronics provides a component selection guide in the datasheet, which includes recommendations for capacitors, resistors, and inductors. Additionally, the application note AN4898 provides more detailed guidance on component selection.
The maximum allowed voltage on the VIN pin is 36V, as specified in the datasheet. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
The VNQ860-E has a built-in overcurrent protection feature. To implement it, connect a sense resistor (Rs) between the VIN pin and the GND pin, and set the overcurrent threshold (Ilim) using an external resistor (Rlim) connected between the Ilim pin and the GND pin.
The EN (enable) pin is used to enable or disable the VNQ860-E. When the EN pin is high, the device is enabled, and when it's low, the device is disabled. This pin can be used to implement power sequencing or to turn off the device when not in use.
