Texas Instruments recommends a star-ground configuration, with the grounds of the input and output stages connected to a central ground point. Additionally, keep the input and output traces short and away from each other to minimize crosstalk and noise. Use a solid ground plane and avoid vias under the device to reduce inductance.
Use a low-pass filter or a ferrite bead in series with the VCC pin to filter out high-frequency noise. Additionally, decouple the VCC pin with a 10nF to 100nF capacitor to reduce noise. Ensure that the PCB layout is designed to minimize radiation and crosstalk.
Although the datasheet specifies a maximum input voltage of VCC + 0.5V, it's recommended to limit the input voltage to VCC or less to prevent damage to the device. Exceeding this limit can cause latch-up or damage to the internal ESD protection diodes.
Use a power-on reset (POR) circuit to ensure that the device is properly reset during power-up. The POR circuit should hold the device in reset until the power supply has stabilized. Additionally, ensure that the input signals are stable and valid before releasing the reset signal.
Although the datasheet specifies an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, it's recommended to operate the device within a narrower range of 0°C to 85°C for optimal performance and reliability. Exceeding this range can affect the device's accuracy, stability, and lifespan.
