The recommended output capacitor value is 10uF to 47uF, with a low ESR and a voltage rating of at least 10V. A ceramic or film capacitor is recommended, such as X5R or X7R dielectric types. The output capacitor should be placed close to the output pin to minimize parasitic inductance.
