ABLIC recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended.
To ensure stability, ABLIC recommends using an output capacitor with an ESR of 1Ω or higher. Additionally, the output capacitor should be placed as close to the VOUT pin as possible.
The maximum allowed voltage on the VIN pin during startup is 6.5V. Exceeding this voltage may cause damage to the device.
The S-8533A25AFT-TB-U is rated for operation up to 125°C. However, the output voltage accuracy and stability may degrade at high temperatures. ABLIC recommends derating the output current and voltage according to the temperature derating curve in the datasheet.
The power dissipation of the regulator can be calculated using the formula: Pd = (VIN - VOUT) x IOUT. ABLIC recommends using a thermal design that ensures the junction temperature (Tj) remains below 125°C.
