ABLIC recommends a thermal pad on the bottom of the package, connected to a large copper area on the PCB to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 2oz copper thickness is recommended.
To ensure stable output voltage during startup, ABLIC recommends adding a 1uF ceramic capacitor between the VIN pin and GND, and a 10uF electrolytic capacitor between the VOUT pin and GND.
The maximum allowed voltage on the EN pin is 6V. Exceeding this voltage may damage the device.
The S-8254ABMFT-TB-U is rated for operation up to 125°C. However, ABLIC recommends derating the output current and voltage according to the temperature derating curve in the datasheet to ensure reliable operation.
Power dissipation can be calculated using the formula: Pd = (VIN - VOUT) x IOUT + (VIN x IGND). ABLIC recommends using the maximum values for VIN, VOUT, IOUT, and IGND to ensure safe operation.
