The REF5010AIDGKT is a high-precision voltage reference, and its performance can be affected by the PCB layout and component placement. It is recommended to place the REF5010AIDGKT close to the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) or digital-to-analog converter (DAC) it is supplying, and to use a solid ground plane and decoupling capacitors to minimize noise and ensure optimal performance.
To ensure proper bypassing and decoupling, place a 10uF to 22uF ceramic capacitor between the VIN pin and GND, and a 100nF to 1uF ceramic capacitor between the VOUT pin and GND. Additionally, use a low-ESR capacitor (e.g. X5R or X7R) and place it as close to the REF5010AIDGKT as possible.
The recommended input voltage range for the REF5010AIDGKT is 4.5V to 18V. The output voltage is regulated to 5.0V ±1% when the input voltage is within this range. If the input voltage is outside this range, the output voltage may not be regulated and may vary.
During power-up, the REF5010AIDGKT has a soft-start feature that ramps up the output voltage to prevent overshoots and ensure a stable output. During power-down, the REF5010AIDGKT has a built-in power-down detector that quickly discharges the output capacitor to prevent voltage overshoots.
The thermal shutdown temperature of the REF5010AIDGKT is 150°C. If the device temperature exceeds this threshold, the REF5010AIDGKT will shut down to prevent damage. Once the device temperature cools down, the REF5010AIDGKT will automatically restart.
