The MAX3420EETG+ supports cable lengths up to 3 meters (10 feet) for full-speed devices and up to 1.5 meters (5 feet) for low-speed devices.
The MAX3420EETG+ can be configured for self-powered or bus-powered operation by connecting the VBUS pin to the power source and setting the CFG pin accordingly. For self-powered operation, connect VBUS to an external power source and set CFG high. For bus-powered operation, connect VBUS to the USB bus and set CFG low.
The SUSPEND pin is used to put the MAX3420EETG+ into a low-power suspend mode when the USB bus is idle. This reduces power consumption and helps to conserve energy.
The 1.5kΩ pull-up resistor on the D+ line is required for full-speed device operation. It can be connected externally or internally using the MAX3420EETG+'s built-in pull-up resistor, which can be enabled by setting the PUEN pin high.
The MAX3420EETG+ supports data transfer rates up to 12 Mbps for full-speed devices and up to 1.5 Mbps for low-speed devices.
