The MAX3238ECDBR can support data rates up to 250 kbps in the RS-232 mode and up to 1 Mbps in the RS-485 mode.
To configure the MAX3238ECDBR for RS-485 mode, connect the DE (Driver Enable) pin to a logic high level and the RE (Receiver Enable) pin to a logic low level. Additionally, connect the Y and Z pins together to form a single differential output.
The EN pin is used to enable or disable the transceiver. When the EN pin is high, the transceiver is enabled and operates normally. When the EN pin is low, the transceiver is disabled and enters a low-power shutdown mode.
The MAX3238ECDBR does not have built-in termination resistors. External termination resistors are required to be added at the end of the RS-485 bus to prevent signal reflections and ensure reliable data transmission.
The recommended operating voltage range for the MAX3238ECDBR is 3.0V to 5.5V. Operating the device outside of this range may affect its performance and reliability.
