A 2-layer or 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and thermal vias is recommended. Keep the thermal pad connected to the ground plane to improve heat dissipation.
Use a compensation network with a series RC network (Rc and Cc) to ensure stability. The values of Rc and Cc can be calculated using the datasheet's stability analysis section.
The maximum capacitive load is 10nF. Exceeding this value may cause oscillations or instability. Use a series resistor to limit the capacitive load if necessary.
Use a voltage supervisor or a power-on reset circuit to detect overvoltage and undervoltage conditions. Add a TVS diode or a zener diode to clamp the input voltage to a safe level.
Use a low-ESR ceramic capacitor (X5R or X7R) with a value between 1uF to 10uF, depending on the input voltage and output current requirements.
