Up to 256 DS1624 devices can be connected to a single 1-Wire bus, as each device has a unique 64-bit ROM code that allows for multiple devices to share the same bus.
The DS1624 has a power-on reset circuit that initializes the device to a known state. Upon power-up, the output pins are in a high-impedance state, and the device is in a reset condition.
The VPP pin is used for programming the device's ROM code during manufacturing. In normal operation, it should be connected to VCC or left unconnected, as it has an internal pull-up resistor.
The DS1624 has a built-in thermal alarm that triggers when the temperature exceeds a user-programmable threshold. The response time is typically less than 10ms, and the device can assert the alarm signal (TOUT) for up to 250ms after the alarm condition is met.
The DS1624 has an accuracy of ±0.5°C from -10°C to +85°C, and ±1°C from -40°C to +125°C. The device is calibrated during manufacturing, and no external calibration is required.
