    CC1100RTK Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

    • A 4-layer PCB with a solid ground plane and a separate power plane is recommended. The RF signal traces should be kept short and away from digital signal traces. A good decoupling scheme and a low-ESR capacitor on the power pin are also essential.
    • Transmission power can be optimized by adjusting the PATABLE register (0x3E-0x40) to set the desired output power level. Additionally, the PA_BOOST register (0x41) can be used to further adjust the output power. However, ensure that the transmission power does not exceed the regulatory limits.
    • The recommended crystal oscillator frequency for the CC1100RTK is 26 MHz. This frequency provides the best trade-off between frequency accuracy and power consumption.
    • Frequency hopping can be implemented by using the FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) mode. This mode is enabled by setting the FHSS_MODE bit (bit 7) in the MDMCFG2 register (0x09). The hopping sequence can be programmed using the FHSS_HOPPING_SEQUENCE register (0x4A-0x4F).
    • The CC1100RTK supports a maximum data rate of 500 kbps in the 868/915 MHz frequency bands and 250 kbps in the 433 MHz frequency band.
