The maximum operating temperature range for the BTA12-600BRG is -40°C to 150°C.
To ensure proper triggering, apply a gate current of at least 100 mA and a gate voltage of at least 2.5 V, and ensure the gate signal is synchronized with the anode voltage.
A recommended snubber circuit consists of a 100 nF capacitor and a 47 Ω resistor in series, connected between the anode and cathode.
Use a voltage clamp or a varistor to limit the voltage across the thyristor, and consider adding a fuse or a current limiter to prevent overcurrent.
A heatsink with a thermal resistance of 1.5°C/W or lower is recommended, and ensure the heatsink is properly mounted and thermally interfaced with the thyristor.
