    AM1S-1215SZ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

    • Aimtec recommends a PCB layout with a large copper area connected to the module's thermal pad to dissipate heat efficiently. A minimum of 1 oz copper thickness is recommended, and the copper area should be connected to a solid ground plane to reduce thermal resistance.
    • Use a voltage regulator or a voltage limiter circuit to ensure the input voltage to the module stays within the recommended range of 10.5V to 15V. Exceeding the maximum input voltage can damage the module.
    • The AM1S-1215SZ can drive a maximum capacitive load of 10uF. Exceeding this limit can cause the module to oscillate or become unstable.
    • Use an external overcurrent protection device, such as a fuse or a current limiter, to protect the module from overcurrent conditions. The module does not have built-in overcurrent protection.
    • Aimtec recommends a soldering temperature of 260°C to 280°C and a soldering time of 3 to 5 seconds. Exceeding these limits can damage the module.
