The maximum sampling rate of the ADS1018 is 3,300 samples per second (SPS) for the 12-bit mode and 1,500 SPS for the 14-bit mode.
The gain settings for the ADS1018 can be configured using the PGA (Programmable Gain Amplifier) bits in the Config Register. The PGA bits allow you to set the gain to 2/3, 4, 5, 6, 8, or 16.
The DRDY (Data Ready) pin is an output pin that goes low when a new conversion result is available in the data register. It can be used to interrupt the microcontroller to read the conversion result.
The ADS1018 has a shutdown mode that can be enabled by setting the SHDN bit in the Config Register. This reduces the power consumption to less than 1 μA.
The internal voltage reference on the ADS1018 has an accuracy of ±0.5% over the operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
